Ross Williams


Ross.pngRoss Williams is currently studying for his Education Doctorate and holds a Masters Degree in Education (MEd) from University of Western Australia (WA), a Bachelor of Education (BEd) from Edith Cowan University in WA and a Diploma of Teaching (Dip Teach) from Nedlands Secondary Teachers College majoring in Health and Physical Education (HPE) and Economics.

Ross has worked as a teacher and teacher educator in a variety of educational institutions in WA and internationally in the United Arab Emirates, Brunei Darussalam, Canada and in the United States of America. Before taking up his appointment at Murdoch University, Ross was the Manager of The Teachers Learning Support Network as part of the Quality Teacher Program.

Ross also managed and wrote the ‘Take the Challenge’* healthy lifestyle project now used by many primary schools across WA. Ross was a member of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCASA) Physical Education Studies Practical Examination Panel for 4 years and currently teaches in the Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching Programs at Murdoch University. His research interests include the implementation of Health and Physical Education curriculum especially the teaching of Fundamental Skills (FMS) and alternative assessment paradigms. Ross was a Past President of the WA branch of the Australian Council for Health Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER), the peak professional body for HPE teachers in Australia and his services to ACHPER and to HPE in WA, was recently elected as Fellow of ACHPER.
