"Faroese Pedagogy – what can we learn from it?"

We will give you a short introduction to the system and underlying core values and principles behind one of the Nordic pre-schools models.

Approximately 95% of Faroese children attend a pre-school at one time or another during their childhood. What goes on while the child is there is determined largely by two factors.

The first factor is the pre-school pedagogue, a teacher that is trained to firstly take the child´s needs into account before anything else. The curriculum is more of a guidance and evaluation tool.

The other is the framework, first the Faroese Day-care and pre-school law, secondly the structuring of pre-schools and culture.

Our presentation will take you through the system and give you a glimpse into the play, day, and life of the Faroese child.

What we do we do for the children.
